The driver was apprehended and later identified as Ravinder Kumar, a 31-year-old resident of Ganaur, Sonipat, Haryana.

Following legal procedures, police searched the intercepted Tempo.
The search resulted in the recovery of 125 cases containing 6,250 liquor quarters, equivalent to approximately 1,125 litres.
According to officials, the entire consignment was marked “For Sale in Haryana Only,” indicating that it was allegedly being transported outside the authorized distribution network.
The recovered stock included:
- 90 cases of Falcon Desi Liquor, comprising 4,500 quarters.
- 15 cases of Race 7 Metro IMFL, comprising 750 quarters.
- 20 cases of Night Blue IMFL, comprising 1,000 quarters.
Police immediately seized both the liquor and the Tempo allegedly used in its transportation.
Excise Act Case Registered
Following the seizure, police registered FIR No. 181/2026, dated July 11, 2026, at Police Station Sector-23, Dwarka.
The case has been registered under Sections 33, 38, and 58(D) of the Delhi Excise Act, which deal with the illegal possession, transportation, and distribution of liquor without lawful authorization.
The accused was formally arrested and taken into police custody for further interrogation.
Accused Had Previous Excise Case
According to police records, the arrested accused Ravinder Kumar has previously been involved in an Excise Act case.
Investigators are examining whether he was operating independently or as part of a larger interstate smuggling network supplying liquor across Delhi and neighboring states.
