In a major breakthrough against Mobile Snatching in the national capital, the staff of PP Sarai Kale Khan under Delhi Police successfully cracked down on an organized Mobile Snatching and stolen phone disposal network operating across parts of Delhi. The operation, led by the team of PS Sunlight Colony in South-East District, resulted in the arrest of three accused persons and the recovery of 66 stolen mobile phones, including 51 iPhones and 15 Android devices.
The action is being seen as one of the significant recoveries in recent months linked to Mobile Snatching cases in Delhi. Police officials stated that the operation not only solved a high-profile snatching incident involving an iPhone 17 Pro but also exposed a larger chain of criminals involved in buying and selling stolen mobile devices in grey markets.

Mobile Snatching Incident Near IP Park Triggered Investigation
The investigation began after a Mobile Snatching incident was reported near IP Park Gate No. 4 on April 18, 2026. According to police officials, the complainant was targeted by two assailants riding a Pulsar NS 200 motorcycle. The accused allegedly snatched an iPhone 17 Pro in orange colour before fleeing the spot.
Based on the complaint, FIR No. 138/26 dated 19.04.2026 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at PS Sunlight Colony.

The second accused, Suhail, also aged 23, allegedly participated in the crime using the Pulsar NS 200 motorcycle. Police had earlier recovered two mobile phones from his possession during the investigation. Officials confirmed that he was previously involved in one criminal case.
The third accused, Zahir alias Salman, aged 36, was allegedly operating as a receiver of stolen mobile phones. Police records show that he was previously involved in three criminal cases.
Investigators are now examining whether the recovered phones are linked to other Mobile Snatching or theft cases registered across Delhi and adjoining regions.
Verification Through ZIPNET and CCTNS Underway
Police officials stated that all recovered mobile phones are being verified through ZIPNET, CCTNS, and other available databases.
The verification process is important because many stolen phones recovered during such raids often belong to victims from different police districts or even neighboring states.
