The accused, who was allegedly absconding for several years, was apprehended following a carefully planned intelligence-based operation conducted in Gurugram, Haryana.
Police recovered one loaded revolver along with six live cartridges, a Toyota Glanza car, and a mobile phone from his possession. According to officials, Lokesh @ Surya has been allegedly involved in more than 20 criminal cases spanning Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and other regions. His alleged criminal record includes offences related to murder, attempt to murder, extortion, kidnapping, dacoity, robbery, and violations under the Arms Act.

According to Delhi Police, the breakthrough came after the Special Cell received credible intelligence regarding the movement of Lokesh @ Surya, who had been continuously changing his hideouts to evade arrest.
Police sources revealed that the accused was wanted in connection with FIR No. 423/2019 registered at Police Station Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, under Sections 365 and 395 of the Indian Penal Code. Owing to his prolonged absconding, the Rajasthan Police had announced a reward of ₹20,000 for information leading to his arrest.

Police stated that he was originally born in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, into a middle-class family and later completed his graduation in Delhi.
Investigators claim that he became involved in criminal activities around 2014 and gradually established links with organized criminal syndicates operating across Delhi-NCR.

According to investigators, Lokesh and his associates allegedly abducted Rajbir Singh after the victim withdrew cash from an ATM.
Police allege that the gang robbed the victim of cash, personal belongings, and his Mahindra XUV500 before fleeing the scene.
Because the accused remained absconding in the matter for several years, Rajasthan Police declared a reward on his arrest.
