Open Communication with Observers
Speaking at the Rohini District Congress Committee meeting, Yadav appealed to leaders and workers to interact openly with observers appointed by the All India Congress Committee. He stressed that honest discussions about local problems, organisational gaps, and requirements are necessary for building a strong and responsive party structure.
He assured party members that they could share their views without fear or hesitation. According to him, such transparency will not only improve internal coordination but also help the party understand the real issues faced at the grassroots level.
The appointment of experienced observers across all 14 districts of Delhi is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the organisation. These observers are expected to guide district units, monitor activities, and ensure that the party remains active and effective across regions.
Grassroots Strength as Political Strategy
Taking a clear political stand, Yadav said that the Congress can counter the BJP only by strengthening its presence at the grassroots level. He highlighted the importance of reaching out to people at every booth and spreading the party’s ideology among voters.
“We will be able to defeat the BJP by strengthening our organisation and connecting with people at every level,” he said.
He emphasized that elections are not won only through campaigns but through consistent engagement with the public. A strong grassroots network helps in understanding people’s concerns and addressing them effectively.
Support from Central Leadership
Yadav also acknowledged the role of senior Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, in guiding efforts to revive the party in Delhi. He said that their leadership has been crucial in taking key organisational decisions.
Under their direction, experienced leaders have been appointed as observers in all districts. These leaders bring valuable experience and are expected to help improve coordination and strengthen the party’s functioning at every level.
District Meetings and Participation
The Rohini district meeting witnessed the presence of several senior leaders, including AICC observer Lalji Desai, former MLA Anil Bhardwaj, and former Mayor Farhad Suri, along with other prominent party members.
Such meetings are being organised across different districts as part of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan. A similar meeting was also held in the Babarpur district under the leadership of Rajkumar Jain.
Yadav appreciated the active participation of party workers, stating that these interactions are essential for strengthening unity and improving organisational efficiency.
Rebuilding the Party Structure
Reflecting on his tenure, Yadav said that he assumed office during a challenging period for the Congress in Delhi. However, with the support of party workers and the public, significant progress has been made in rebuilding the organisation.
Over the past year, the party has completed appointments at various levels, including district presidents, block presidents, mandal presidents, and sector in-charges. These steps have helped create a structured and organised system within the party.
He noted that such organisational clarity ensures better coordination and accountability, which are essential for long-term success.
Focus on Booth-Level Organization
Yadav placed special emphasis on strengthening the organisation at the booth level, calling it the backbone of any political party. He explained that a strong booth-level network plays a crucial role during elections.
To achieve this, the Congress has appointed Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) in all 70 Assembly constituencies of Delhi. These agents are responsible for managing booth-level activities and ensuring smooth coordination during elections.
He highlighted that observers have played an important role in facilitating these appointments and guiding workers in their responsibilities.
Training and Electoral Preparedness
The BLA-2 members have been provided training to work effectively during elections. They are expected to coordinate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) appointed by the Election Commission.
Their role includes monitoring voter lists, ensuring that genuine voters are not removed, and preventing the inclusion of invalid entries. Yadav stressed that maintaining the integrity of voter lists is crucial for free and fair elections.
He added that a well-trained booth-level team can significantly strengthen the party’s electoral performance.
Encouraging Transparency Within the Party
A key highlight of Yadav’s address was his emphasis on transparency and open dialogue within the party. He encouraged workers to speak freely about organisational shortcomings and suggest improvements.
He said that constructive criticism should be welcomed, as it helps in identifying weaknesses and finding solutions. Creating an environment where workers feel heard and valued is essential for building a strong organization.
Campaign for Organizational Strengthening
The Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is part of a broader effort to rebuild the Congress party in Delhi. The campaign focuses on strengthening the organisational structure, improving communication, and increasing public engagement.
Yadav said that the aim is to ensure that the party’s presence is visible at every level—from local communities to major constituencies. By doing so, the Congress hopes to reconnect with voters and rebuild trust.
Looking Ahead
Expressing optimism about the future, Yadav said that the ongoing efforts will help the Congress regain its strength in Delhi. He urged party workers to remain committed to the party’s ideology and work with dedication.
He also called for greater public engagement, stating that the party is committed to addressing the concerns of the people.
