Google has launched the Pixel Watch 5 in India, expanding its smartwatch lineup with new health-monitoring capabilities, a faster processor, an updated display and a refreshed design. The latest wearable is positioned as a health, fitness and everyday productivity companion, with Google’s new Health Guardian features adding more detailed insights into cardiovascular and metabolic trends.
The Google Pixel Watch 5 starts at Rs 42,900 in India and is available in 41mm and 45mm case sizes. The smartwatch runs Wear OS 7.0 and works with most Android phones running Android 12 or later. Some of its newly announced health features, including blood-pressure and insulin-resistance trend tracking, are scheduled to arrive through a software update from September 2026.

Google Pixel Watch 5 Price and Availability
The Google Pixel Watch 5 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 42,900. Buyers can choose between 41mm and 45mm case sizes, with different colour and band combinations available depending on the size.
The 45mm version is available with a Matte Black Aluminium Case and Obsidian Active Band, a Polished Silver Aluminium Case with Fog Active Band, and a Satin Pyrite Aluminium Case with Olive Active Band.
The 41mm model is offered in Matte Black, Polished Silver and Satin Pyrite finishes, along with a Champagne Gold Aluminium Case paired with a Canyon Active Band.
Google has also introduced a Stephen Curry Special Edition in the US market. This limited-edition model is offered in the 45mm size and pairs a Satin Pyrite Aluminium Case with a Rye Performance Loop Band.
New Health Guardian Features
One of the biggest highlights of the Pixel Watch 5 is its expanded Health Guardian feature set.
Google says the smartwatch can passively monitor certain cardiovascular and metabolic health signals using sensors already present on the wrist. Instead of requiring users to manually perform checks every day, the system is designed to identify longer-term trends.
The new health features include blood-pressure trends and insulin-resistance trends.
However, these features are not immediately available at launch. Google says they are scheduled to roll out from September 2026 as a software update for the Pixel Watch 5, alongside the Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Watch 4 and Fitbit Air devices.
For blood-pressure trends, the watch uses pulse and motion activity to monitor patterns over an extended period, including during sleep. Rather than providing daily readings, the feature is designed to generate a monthly report.
The insulin-resistance feature similarly aims to estimate metabolic trends using wrist-based sensor data without requiring blood sampling. These features should be understood as trend-monitoring tools rather than replacements for clinical medical measurements or professional medical advice.
Faster Processor and Updated Display
The Pixel Watch 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated chip, paired with a Cortex-M55 co-processor.
The smartwatch comes with 64GB of eMMC storage, providing space for apps and other supported content.
Google has also upgraded the display system. The Pixel Watch 5 features an Actua 360 display protected by custom 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The AMOLED LTPO panel has a pixel density of 320ppi and can reach a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. It also supports an always-on display and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 60Hz.
The combination of higher brightness, LTPO technology and a variable refresh rate is designed to balance visibility and power consumption while providing a smoother experience when interacting with the watch.
Battery Life Differs by Case Size
Battery capacity varies between the two Pixel Watch 5 sizes.
The 45mm version has a 465mAh battery, while the 41mm model uses a 332mAh battery. Google claims up to 40 hours of battery life on the 45mm model and up to 30 hours on the 41mm version with the always-on display enabled.
Battery Saver mode extends the claimed figures to up to 72 hours for the 45mm model and up to 48 hours for the 41mm variant.
The smartwatch also comes with a Quick Charge Dock. Google says the device can reach 50% charge in approximately 15 minutes and a full charge in roughly an hour, depending on the case size.

Pixel Watch 5 Builds on Google’s Wearable Strategy
The launch of the Pixel Watch 5 represents another step in Google’s effort to combine smartwatch functionality with health monitoring, fitness tracking, safety features and artificial intelligence.
The hardware upgrades provide a faster chip and brighter display, while the two available case sizes allow users to choose between different physical dimensions and battery capacities.
More importantly, the new Health Guardian features broaden the watch’s health-related ambitions. Blood-pressure and insulin-resistance trend monitoring could provide users with additional information about longer-term patterns once the features become available through the September 2026 software update.
The integration of Gemini also shows how Google is increasingly bringing AI into its hardware ecosystem. Instead of treating AI as a feature limited to smartphones and computers, the company is making it part of everyday wearable interactions.
With a starting price of Rs 42,900 in India, the Pixel Watch 5 enters the premium smartwatch segment. Its combination of health features, fitness tracking, AI capabilities, safety tools, upgraded hardware and two case sizes makes it one of Google’s most feature-rich wearable offerings to date.
